Objectives
Objectives
The curricular unit discusses, in an introductory way, Political Science and Sociology as scientific fields, reflecting on their objects and methodology, as well as the contribution of both to the theme of security. Based on the analysis of theoretical or matrix documents and an updated corpus, it aims to enable students to: 1) identify the main concepts, theories and actors of Political Science and Sociology; 2) acquire the abiliy to understand political and sociological phenomena and their relationship with security. Thanks to the knowledge acquired in this course, students will be able to better understand the relationship between Political Science, Sociology and Security and will be able to understand the importance of a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach to the thematic of security.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The teaching-learning process combines theoretical-practical lessons and tutorial sessions, with independent, individual or group study. Theoretical-practical classes are led by the teacher, with open space for student intervention, comments and questions. Comtinuous assessment consists of two written tests.
