Class Physiology II

  • Presentation

    Presentation

Human Physiology is actually one of the most fundamental areas for biomedical and biopharmaceutical formation. It integrates a diversified knowledge, from cell biology, to chemistry, biochemistry and functional morphology, essential to understand and consolidate pharmacology, therapeutics and toxicology, but also for other clinical specialities.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

By approving this unit the student shall have acquired the main fundamentals regarding human body organization, especially focusing on homeostasis and respective regulating mechanisms. This will lead to a wider integrated vision of the organization of complex organisms, which is necessary to approach organs and systems physiology as integrative physiology, all essential to understanding the disease and its mechanisms further.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

This curricular unit uses various active learning strategies such as the virtual human body from Anatomage, and biological signal simulators (Physioex) among others.
