This Option, in the scope of Rugby aims to provide students with deontological, relational, pedagogical and technical skills required for the effective exercise of professional activity, with the general objective of guiding practitioners in training and competition. Thus, the skills of planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the activity of practitioners in the context of training and competition are highlighted, both in the "micro" perspective and in the "meso" and "macro" perspectives, the latter being implemented in the annual planning, in accordance with the requirements context and level of practice where it operates. These skills require, in turn, in-depth knowledge of the practitioner's long-term sports development process, as well as mastery of the methods of evaluation, control and monitoring of the training and competition process.

Syllabus
1. Rugby and its forms Development of knowledge of Rugby in Portugal, including XV, Sevens, and simplified versions. 2. Evaluation and diagnosis Ability to assess the level of students/athletes and develop the capacity to identify the key factors for their progression. 3. Technical fundamentals Mastery of Rugby’s Technical Fundamentals, their applications, and associated key factors. 4. General game movement Knowledge of the played forms of the game – offensive and defensive tactics. 5. Tournament organization Development and management of all aspects involved in the organization of a Rugby tournament.

Objectives
1 Demonstrate skills in exercise design and management, communication techniques, and group management. 2 Master rugby training methodology at the level of individual and collective technical principles; playing on foot, playing on the ground, kicking, scrum, and lineout. 3 Demonstrate coaching skills in a pedagogical practice setting. 4 Use conditioned games as a method for training the game. 5 Interpret game analysis indicators and apply offensive and defensive tactics. Demonstrate skills in season and training session planning. 6 Apply safety standards and contact management, and implement procedures in case of an accident. Know and apply the laws of the game in XV and Sevens training and match situations. 7 Design and implement integrated physical training sessions with position-specific transfer. 8 Have an in-depth knowledge of the overall functioning of Rugby in Portugal.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Monitoring and discussion of training sessions led by students in a club environment. Possibility of intervention in the training environment after discussion of observed scenarios. Support in the preparation of Youth Rugby Tournaments.
