Objectives
Objectives
Reflect on the issue of childhood as a social construction, raise awareness of the importance of protecting children and defending their rights, and also analyze risk situations associated with childhood and youth, in an interdisciplinary perspective and integrating theory and practice. In addition to these (general) objectives, it is also intended to reflect on the intervention of the Social Worker in risk / danger situations and their framing within the framework of the child and youth protection system in Portugal.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The teaching methodology is oriented towards a process centered on the competences of the students and oriented towards the understanding and conceptual reflection of the themes. The evaluation will be continuous, valuing the participation of students in the learning dynamics. Thus, the following elements will be taken into account: Group work (on point 5 of the program), with oral presentation, corresponding to 40% of the final grade. 1 written test, corresponding to 40% of the final grade. Discussion / participation in class, practical exercises, representing 20% of the final grade. The grade of each of the elements must be greater than or equal to 9,5 points. The appeal exam will consist in a written test (100%), with a minimum grade for approval is 9,5 points.
