This CU aims to: Provide students with communicational tools to enable them to express themselves efficiently, courteously and professionally in English, on topics and situations involving the world of work and organizations, in general. Develop vocabulary and fluency in English, in particular contexts of the professional life involving in-person interactions. Empower students to exchange points of view and opinions in English on topics of their area of training.

Syllabus
1. Organisational structures, departments, positions, responsibilities, tasks. 2. What is Tourism, what is a tourist - relevant terminology. Main sectors in the tourism and hospitality industries. 3. Reasons for travelling. Mass tourism and niche tourism - attractions and impacts. 4. Functional English: giving opinions, recommendations, directions, describing accommodation.

Objectives
Objectives
The main skills to acquire are: - The ability to communicate fluently, clearly and adequately in English, in situations related to work and organizations, in particular of the Tourism industry and related industries; - The ability to speak and write on the elements of the structure of a company, different departments, respective responsibilities and tasks; - The ability to discuss the benefits and challenges created by Tourism, using relevant terminology in English; - The ability to apply knowledge acquired to the discussion of points of view and situations pertaining to the world of Tourism, namely case studies.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Interactive lecture. short lecture times associated with audiovisual resources and demonstrations (real or simulations and recordings), individual and small group activities, debates. Such exposure will stimulate students to think, debate ideas, collaborate with each other and develop deep learning. The applied methodology is the role-play, recreating real life working contexts, applying all learned topics to simulations of common situations.
