AAI, Its development, audiences and scopes. AAT and new ideas about the relationship between humans and non-humans. Representativeness of co-performing animals in AAT. Scopes and audiences – AAT applications in different audiences; benefit premises The main programs in Portugal and in the world. Main procedures in the selection of animals (with main focus on the dog), animal learning and acquisition of behaviors to integrate an AAT session Training an animal for AAT Observation of AAT sessions Raising awareness of ethical and animal welfare issues regarding the use of animals in AAI and AAT Main procedures in planning sessions in AAT

Objectives
Knowing AAI from its evolution to the present and the main issues that arise in the field of AAT. Understand the importance of AAT and the human-animal relationship in the context of human health; Understand the main ethical issues in the field and reflect on animal welfare. Be knowledgeable of the mechanisms of selection and learning of animals that integrate the AAT. Understand and be able to select different behaviors that are desirable in an animal to integrate an AAT session; Be able to analyze an AAT session and recognize the animal's skills vs. their performance and goals in therapy. Plan an AAT session with facilitation of the animal's role

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The teaching methodologies employed are based on lectures using practical examples and videos. This will be complemented using active learning methodologies that are based on the principle that students seek and acquire knowledge autonomously teachers in order to complement their learning
