The Master's Degree in Football - from Training to High Competition, is an innovative master's degree, the first and only one at a Portuguese university, seeking to contribute to a better understanding and development of football and to the training of increasingly competent professionals who are better prepared for the multiple and demanding roles of football coaches. Observation, analysis, study, reflection, research and discussion will be used to understand the apparent simplicity and hidden complexity of the game that captivates crowds and is the biggest media and social phenomenon today.

Podem candidatar-se ao ciclo de estudos conducente ao grau de mestre: a) titulares de grau de licenciado ou equivalente legal, prioritariamente da área de educação física e desporto e das ciências do desporto; b) titulares de um grau académico estrangeiro conferido na sequência de um 1o ciclo de estudos organizado de acordo com os princípios do processo de Bolonha por um Estado aderente a esse processo; c) titulares de um grau académico superior estrangeiro que seja reconhecido como satisfazendo os objectivos do grau de licenciado pelo órgão estatutariamente competente; d) detentores de currículo escolar, científico ou profissional, que seja reconhecido pelo órgão estatutariamente competente da ULHT como atestando capacidade para realizar este ciclo de estudos. Critérios de seriação: 50% nota da habilitação anterior 20% Área da licenciatura ou ramo (afinidade com a área do mestrado) 10% Participação em Congressos e outros eventos, com apresentação de Comunicações ou Posters 20% Currículo profissional na área Para os candidatos sem classificação da habilitação anterior, os critérios de seriação serão os seguintes: Apreciação Curricular: 40% Área da licenciatura ou ramo (afinidade com a área do mestrado) 20% Participação em Congressos e outros eventos, com apresentação de Comunicações ou Posters 40% Currículo profissional na área Para candidatos sem habilitação anterior: 100% Apreciação curricular

Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
The course aims to promote in students the harmonious development of knowledge and skills necessary for the proper performance of the function of a football coach, from youth to high performance, namely: Using as a fundamental means of exercise training intervention; Promote the knowledge of their specialty within the scientific, pedagogical and didactic knowledge in an integrated manner; Specifically, it is expected that the student dominates and list the contents of the Training Theory of soccer in historical, technical, tactical and organizational plans; It is intended that the student acquire knowledge, skills and competencies that allow them to organize and plan the process of prescribing and managing preparation training programs, control and evaluate the process of training and competition, applying critical and properly own knowledge of football.
