Presentation
The main goal of this Curricular Unit is to be an introduction to the complex and constantly evolving world of personal data protection. Considering the process of "Europeanization" of this topic, the central area of study is the European framework of personal data protection, in particular, the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"). This Curricular Unit is highly relevant in all masters in law, particularly in a master of public law given the synergies of data protection and fundamental rights.

Students with special status provided for by law or regulation that exempts them from mandatory attendance to classes, but who wish to be included in the continuous assessment regime, must inform the Professor of the course as soon as they become aware of this fact, but always with 90 days' notice before the end of classes, so that the Professor can define another form of work or support, which may include completing a written assignment, presenting reports, and/or an oral exam.
