Presentation
RISK and VIOLENCE is the subject of analysis by various scientific disciplines with a view to understanding it and defining interventions. Considered a social problem, it has led to the emergence of theoretical paradigms to explain it, scientific research and social strategies and policies to respond to it. This COURRICULAR UNIT covers the field of research, providing students with a deeper understanding of research methodologies in the field of risk and violence, based on theoretical and epistemological contributions, as well as the discussion and reflection of practical cases.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
The course will be developed through discussion of the topics outlined in the syllabus and with the support of bibliography and other teaching materials (audiovisuals). Open dialog, guided research and analysis of texts, contact with research experiences and projects (namely, from university repositories) and intervention (namely, from practical experiences) and self-study will be promoted. This course's classes will be interactive with participation, using the expository/interrogative method and panel debates on the program's themes around research and intervention projects.
