It is very important for the Third Cycle of Studies in Law to have a course in Advanced Studies in Business Law. The areas of law related to companies are characterised by their dynamism and rapid evolution, which is typical of consumer companies operating in the markets. It is therefore important to make students aware of what is happening today, in order to arouse their interest in more in-depth research into these matters.

1. Introduction. 2. How the right to the trademark is acquired. 3. The exclusive inherent to the ownership of the right to the trademark. 4.The (main) limitations to trademark rights. 5. The brand as an object of property. 6. Invalidity of the registration (with the consequent loss of the respective right). 7. The expiry of the registration (with the consequent loss of the respective right). 8. Collective mark and certification or guarantee mark.
