This Curricular Unit is intended to empower students with the ability to plan and manage potential crisis and emergency situations, leading Crisis and Emergency Management teams, objectively competing for the desideratum of the aforementioned objectives as well as for the best framework in such a permanently subject matter.
- Ability to use the most appropriate models and techniques, at any time, for crisis management in the context of protection and relief;
- Ability to implement crisis prevention processes;
- Ability to build and lead a crisis management team at a strategic level;
- Ability to develop and implement a crisis management communication plan;
- Ability to implement national and international standards in the field of crisis management.

Objectives
Objectives
LO1 – Know the criteria for emergency planning;
LO2 – define and classify the concepts of crisis management, emergencies, disasters and catastrophes;
LO3 – Knowing the criteria for emergency management;
LO4 – Know at all times who the emergency manager is;
LO5 – Understand and know how to apply crisis control measures. Knowing how to command and coordinate multidisciplinary and multi-agent teams.
LO6 – Know the International Systems of Civil Protection;
LO7 – Knowing the different Players in International Crisis Management;
LO8 - Bilateral Cooperation of Multilateral Cooperation
LO9 – Understand the importance of communication in crisis scenarios;
LO10 – Develop doctrine plans, plans and manuals for crisis situations in the field of protection and relief.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Classes are theoretical-practical.
Theoretical component: Presentation of the concepts and principles of Crisis and Emergency Management; presentation of examples; development of logical reasoning and critical spirit.
Practical Component: presentation of practical cases; Accompanying groups of students in collecting relevant information, analyzing data and carrying out work.
The evaluation of students is carried out in accordance with the university's evaluation regulation and, with the following evaluation moments: Continuous Evaluation (presence in classes, participation in classes and presentation of individual works) (30%); a Final Group Work (written and presented in class or congress) (70%); or a Final Exam (100%) at exam time.
