The objective of the UC is to empower students with the essential knowledge to understand the concepts of knowledge management and lessons learned, understanding their importance, and being able to implement the models in organizations, especially in Civil Protection. In this way, it develops the following specific skills:
1. Train to understand the concepts of knowledge management and lessons learned, and the process of creating and transferring knowledge;
2. Enable to understand the importance of knowledge management and lessons learned as critical and strategic resources for decision makers in organizations in supporting decision-making;
3. Train to operationalize knowledge management models (structures, processes and tools) and lessons learned, both for operational activity and for daily routine.
4. Train to develop and implement knowledge management models and lessons learned in the context of Civil Protection.

Objectives
LO1: Clarify the concept of knowledge, knowledge creation and lessons learned;
LO2: Knowing the main theories and models related to the process of creation and transfer of knowledge;
LO3: Know the representation tools for knowledge management and information sharing;
LO4: Understand management, processing and analysis techniques to support the transformation of an identified lesson into a learned lesson;
LO5: Understand the role of Leadership in the lessons learned process;
LO6: Develop knowledge management models and lessons learned in the context of Civil Protection.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
Classes are theoretical-practical, using the following teaching methods:
- The theoretical frameworks of reference are presented in the theoretical components;
- In the practical components, there will be guided discussion, case studies, problem solving and practical exercises, and analysis of scientific articles, with the aim of consolidating doctrinal knowledge and knowing the reality of organizations.
Final assessment: Critical review and individual presentation of a scientific article (20%) and evaluation of an Individual/Group Research Work in the form of a scientific article (80%) (written part: 70%; presentation and debate: 30%).
