  • Presentation

    Presentation

    In the Curricular Unit, students acquire the necessary skills for the planning, development and operation of systems and information technologies associated with the management and direction of civil protection. In this field of action, it is expected that the student develops the following specific skills:

    • Ability to define information systems and technologies, as well as their fundamentals, components and processes;
    • Faculty to understand the importance of information systems and technologies in modern organizations;
    • Ability to investigate and explore sources of data, information and knowledge in the field of civil protection;
    • Ability to carry out the planning and development of information systems, taking into account their fundamentals, motivations, problems and results;
    • Ability to recognize constraints and opportunities for the evolution of information systems and technologies.

  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Classes are theoretical-practical.

    The theoretical components are directed towards the presentation of concepts, principles and foundations associated with information systems and technologies.

    In the practical components, debate is promoted on case studies that illustrate the material covered in theoretical classes, the reality of information systems and technologies in the field of civil protection, as well as guidance on individual works that will be the subject of presentation and debate.

    The evaluation of students is carried out in accordance with the university's evaluation regulation and, with the following evaluation moments: Continuous Evaluation (presence in classes, participation in classes and presentation of individual works) (30%); a Final Individual Work (written and presented in class or congress) (70%); or a Final Exam (100%) at exam time.
