The FAZER + Programme is a Science and Innovation Support Programme aimed at supporting and rewarding activities and projects that strengthen the research and innovation capacity within Lusófona University institutions.

The programme consists of 1 competition and 3 awards:

• Research Excellence Competition;
• Innovative Teaching Practice Award;
• Best Research Practices in Teaching Award;
• Lusófona University Scientific Publications Award.

“Research Excellence” Competition

This competition aims to fund innovative projects, preferably with a strong interdisciplinary component, in any field of knowledge that may result in larger-scale projects to be later submitted for national or international funding and/or patent or other intellectual property registrations.

Available funding:

• The allocated amount is one hundred thousand euros (€100,000).
• The maximum funding per application is fifty thousand euros (€50,000).

“Innovative Teaching Practice” Award

This award is intended to recognise the integration of innovative practices into the curriculum content of courses at any level of education, promoting cross-disciplinary, active, and collaborative learning, based on face-to-face, distance, or blended teaching/learning systems, aimed at stimulating self-learning and inclusive education.

Available funding:

• The award amount for individual applications is five thousand euros (€5,000).
• The award amount for group applications is eight thousand euros (€8,000).

“Best Research Practices in Teaching” Award

This award is intended to recognise the best processes for integrating R&D practices into course unit content, promoting student immersion in research and development activities.

Available funding:

• The award amount per application is five thousand euros (€5,000).
• The amount may be awarded individually or to the group of winning lecturers.

Lusófona University Scientific Publications Award

This award is intended to recognise scientific research activity and encourage the practice of publishing in internationally recognised peer-reviewed journals and publishers (Q1).

Available funding:

• The award amount per application is two hundred and fifty euros (€250).
