Awakening Solidarity and Sustainability
ULusófona as a means of promoting positive social and environmental impact on the community.
09.01.24 - 12h52As part of its mission to train aware and responsible citizens, Lusófona University stands out for combining the academic education of excellent students with a commitment to building a more informed, supportive and sustainable community. We believe that establishing and strengthening solid ties between the University and the Community through active participation is essential to foster the exchange of knowledge and experiences, promoting a positive social and environmental impact.
Therefore, promoting initiatives aimed at reducing environmental impact and helping to develop a circular economy is an essential pillar in this journey. The continuous development of regular solidarity and sustainable activities throughout the year is crucial to consolidating values and promoting social awareness.
Christmas Market
On December 13, the academic community had the pleasure of experiencing a Christmas Market initiative, which allowed the sale and exchange of items ranging from books to toys, promoting reuse and contributing to a circular economy. Also in this context, Lusófona D.R.E.S.S. was also present, encouraging the exchange of clothes and accessories, with special emphasis on the creations of the Fashion Design and Production students themselves.

A Basket of Hope
In a partnership with CASA - Centro de Apoio ao Sem-Abrigo, the institution demonstrated its commitment to homeless people. On December 15, members of the Marketing and Communications Department, in collaboration with student volunteers, distributed essential goods at CASA's facilities in Lisbon and Porto. This successful initiative truly provided a glimmer of hope for a happier Christmas for families facing precarious conditions.

LBV's Permanent Christmas
Within the scope of health and well-being activities, and as part of social responsibility, a group of ULusófona employees took part in a volunteering action with the Legion of Good Will in Lisbon on the morning of December 14. With this collaboration, the LBV's Permanent Christmas hampers were prepared, as well as soup plates and kits to be distributed at the Ronda da Caridade.

Lusófona University reaffirms its commitment to awakening solidarity and sustainability, assuming itself as a catalyst for community building. That said, these actions not only enrich the academic experience of its members, but also strengthen the values that will shape our future.
