
ULP Professor Participates in Pilot Project Presentation
Municipality of Machico presents a Pilot Project "Risk Management Plan for Bathing Waters".
30.09.22 - 09h15The beaches of Machico are the first on the island of Madeira to present the Bathing Water Risk Plan. The presentation, which took place on September 9, was attended by the Professors of the Degree in Civil Protection Engineering at the Lusófona University of Porto, Artur Costa and André Branco Rodrigues.
The session, which was promoted by the company Ondas Calmas - Unipessoal Lda., in partnership with the Municipality of Machico and with the support of the Lusófona University of Porto, took place on the 9th of September, at the Forum Machico, Municipality of Machico (Madeira), having been present, in addition to the entire council of the Chamber of Machico and representatives of other municipalities, the Regional Director for the Environment and Climate Change of Madeira and the 2nd Commander of the Maritime Zone Command of Madeira, to in addition to a varied audience.
The purpose of the trip was to respond to the invitation addressed to the Degree in Civil Protection Engineering at Lusófona University, to be present at the public presentation of the pilot project "Plano Gestão Risco nas Águas Baneares do Município de Machico", a project resulting from a end-of-course work developed by student Paulo Alexandre de Sousa Falé (currently Eng.º Paulo Falé), under the supervision of professor André Branco Rodrigues, within the scope of the curricular unit Project/Internship, of the Degree in Civil Protection Engineering. p>
The work had been academically evaluated in public tests before a Jury, having deserved the distinguished and unusual classification of 19 values.
