
Erasmus+ Course Promotes Global Citizenship and Interculturality
Event attracts students and teachers for a dialogue on contemporary issues
26.07.24 - 12h14The course, taught in English, aimed to create a reflective learning space that integrates theory and action. During the five days, participants were able to explore themes of global citizenship, interculturality, and mediation through lectures, workshops, debates, and practical activities. On the first day, the schedule began with participant registration and reception, followed by the opening and welcome session. There was a lecture on global citizenship, followed by a midday break and the resumption of activities with a debate workshop and activities related to the theme, ending the day with a sunset gathering.
On the second day, there was a lecture on interculturality, followed by a break and a workshop with a debate and activities related to the theme, moderated by Cristiana Madureira. On June 27, there was a lecture on mediation, followed by a break and a workshop focused on debates and activities about mediation.
On June 28, participants experienced an immersive experience followed by a break and a socio-cultural program. On the last day, it began with the preparation of the conclusion of the eBook, concluding with a review and closing session.
In addition to the in-person activities, the event included an online review, evaluation, and farewell session scheduled for July 4, providing continuity to the learning process and exchange of experiences. The course included the participation of distinguished academics, including Professor Doctor António Teodoro, Professor Doctor Sofia Santos, Professor Doctor Susana Gonçalves, Professor Doctor Patrícia Ribeiro, Professor Doctor Maria José Casanova, Professor Doctor Ana Piedade, Professor Doctor Cristiana Madureira, Professor Doctor Louise Lima, Professor Doctor Ana Paula Monteiro, Professor Doctor Carlos Pilia, Professor Doctor Mónica Soares, Professor Doctor Raquel Rodrigues Monteiro, and Professor Doctor Elisabete Pinto da Costa.
This event was a unique opportunity for participants to develop a deeper understanding of the complexities and interrelationships of the addressed themes, promoting a collaborative and intercultural learning environment.
