Survey - Gender and Diversity Plan
Cross the European values of equal opportunities in the area of science and higher education.
07.09.22 - 08h34The Commission for Monitoring and Implementing the Gender and Diversity Plan for Lusófona Education Establishments is developing a set of initiatives to create an active Lusófona community in these dimensions, which intersect with European values of equal opportunities in the area of science and Higher Education. Over the next few months, the Lusófona community will be invited to take part in some of these activities that aim to increase, facilitate and consolidate good practices in the areas of gender and diversity.
The work is being done in accordance with the objectives of the European/Horizon Europe agenda and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, namely in the areas of Quality Education (Goal 4), Gender Equality (Goal 5) and Reducing inequalities (Goal 10) and promoting a consistent social impact.
We know that COFAC institutions, like the rest of the university system, have problems of inequality in different spheres - and we are following the evolution of these problems over time, annually. The questionnaire that we disseminated to the Lusófona community responds to this need, making a survey of the main focuses of inequality within COFAC. Only with this information can we move forward towards the creation of processes and structures that fight these inequalities, and that contribute to a more plural, more diverse Academy, and where the people who are part of it can feel safe, respected and heard. p>
