Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)
From 2 to 5 June, researchers from Lusófona University/CICANT and lecturers from the Department of Cinema and Media Arts participated in the WIRE Summit at NATFA – National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts, in Sofia, Bulgaria. The team’s presence marked a strong Portuguese representation at one of the most relevant gatherings of the FilmEU – European University of Film and Media Arts.
During the Artistic Research Exhibition (ARE), works by Hugo Barata and Ricardo Nunes were presented, exploring new approaches to artistic research.
Within the framework of the Horizon Mission Pilot Projects, two participations from Lusófona University stood out:
- Infamous Shipwrecks, led by Célia Quico;
- Water As Time, an international project with the collaboration of filmmaker and lecturer David Novack.
The film Por Este Rio Acima / Up This River, by Agnes Meng, a Chinese documentary filmmaker and PhD candidate in Media Arts at Lusófona University, was also screened as part of the FilmEU student pilots.
Participation in the WIRE Summit also included the Illumina programme, the PhD Seminar and the PhD Café, which fostered dialogue among early-career researchers and doctoral candidates from various European institutions.
