Students from the Faculty of Engineering Evaluate Air Quality
Lusófona University Master's in Environmental Engineering project analyses air quality data and discusses energy efficiency
07.06.23 - 17h12As part of the Air Quality Management course of the Master's programme in Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering (FE) of Universidade Lusófona, the students developed an innovative project focused on air quality and energy efficiency.
In the first phase of the project, the students critically analysed and processed real data on air quality. Through statistical analysis of official databases from monitoring stations in the national network, it was possible to assess and characterise air quality in Portugal. The results were presented in a scientific poster, reflecting the importance of assessing outdoor air quality.
In the second phase, the focus was on the importance of air quality in different micro-exposure environments. Working in groups, the students discussed the relationship between air quality and energy efficiency, exploring how the two themes are interlinked. The analyses and discussions were shared publicly, highlighting the relevance of the research for improving environmental conditions and energy efficiency.
