On the 25th of October 2024, a group of students and lecturers from the Bachelor's and Master's programmes in Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the Lusófona University - University Centre, undertook a technical visit to the construction site of the General Drainage Plan for Lisbon. The activity aimed to provide students with a practical experience that complements the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom.

During the visit, the participants were at the Santa Apolónia construction site, where they observed the tunnelling machine that has been excavating from Monsanto. They also explored the Beato site, where the tunnelling machine that will connect Beato and Chelas will be assembled. The students had the opportunity to interact with professionals in the field and analyse the practical application of the concepts addressed in their courses, enriching their education.

The lecturers expressed their gratitude to the Lisbon City Council for the opportunity to undertake this visit, which proved essential for the students' learning.
