Class Introduction to Design Techniques

The student will be able to represent the real through drawing in different scales; use different types of graphic record; apply different techniques of drawing and understand their proper use for the proposed objectives.

Pictorial representation of the real (study of organic and inorganic forms) Description of the objects through the contour. Outer and inner contour. Explicit and implicit lines. Conductive axes. Proportion relations. Perceiving the shape of a space: positive and negative forms Representation of the pictorial space Proportions and perspective: Depth indicators; Introduction to linear perspective; Plans and surfaces; Volumes; Scales; Relation far / near, indoor / outdoor etc. Light and shadow: Shape modeling; Tonal values; styles of hatching Representation / Graphic Language Use of line and stain Light values Depth Textures Composition Exploration of different angles and frames; change of scales Constructive relationships; Balance; Tension; Movement and rhythm. Inverted drawings; filled and empty spaces; blind drawing and blind perception

Lectures will be held to present the topics on the programme, using audiovisual resources. The classes include a group of practical exercises for drawing shapes and objects observed using different techniques
