Syllabus
The syllabus of the curricular unit is organized from a series of thematic and specific approaches to image technologies most used in journalistic production and advertising production. The contents will be worked on in order to achieve a basic training that allows students to approach with greater ease the future use of the various technologies. Photography: - General notions of capturing and editing, Photojournalism, Lightpaintg (as a technique to master the machine in automatic mode - Shutter, Diaphragm and That), photography as news narrative, capture methods and exercises to work with perception and how we can give subjectivity and convey our thinking in a space for a frozen frame. Video: - General notions of plan scales, essential rules for establishing a relationship with the viewer without breaking your attention, capturing and editing, video journalism, design editing of television and multimedia reporting, and project video creation of advertising.

Objectives
Objectives
The curricular unit of Tecnologias da Imagem intends to provide students with a practical introduction to the various processes of image production and use in the context of communicational production: from capturing and editing image in motion (video journalism, advertising / spots with creation of infographics ) to still image (such as documentary photography or photojournalism or even image advertising). To make students aware of the technological mediation devices by using equipment and working their skills to construct content for later dissemination. The skills to be developed are essentially at a basic technical level, taking into account the future execution in the specialization phase: photographic and videographic capture and editing for journalistic reporting and for advertising work. Elaboration of strategies of use and edition of the image for informative and advertising contents.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The program contents will be addressed according to different proposed challenges and analysis of case studies allowing students to gradually learn through analysis and experimentation. In the case of learning a way of thinking that is based on questioning and reflection will be encouraged, a moment of sharing between different colleagues in the class and whenever possible with the academic community through the exhibition of projects and/or other means of dissemination.
