    Infographics and Digital Layout address the main issues that are at the origin of the creation of visual information content, encouraging students to have a critical position for the conceptualization of new approaches relating to text and image relationship. Topics such as micro and macro typography, image, color, focus and visual synthesis will be addressed through theory, case studies and practical exercises, stimulating the realization of visual projects that materialize comprehensive and current concepts. In an increasingly visual and changing world, it is essential to master the visual resources to communicate. This curricular unit intends to enable students to do so.

    Syllabus

    Navigation systems. The infographics - analysis and construction of visual narratives in order to inform in a functional and appealing way. Digital pagination. 1. Project methodology. Design thinking and creative processes . 2. The importance of informational synthesis. Decision criteria. 3. The importance of hierarchy in understanding information. The visual focus, the sequence and the rhythm in the reading. 4. Readability. Know how to compose text and image in two-dimensional space. 5. Color — Properties and functions. 6. The Image — Types and suitability to the context 7. Learning Adobe Illustrator software and Adobe InDesign. 8. Building an infographic 9. Paging of verbal and non-verbal elements in a given space.

    Objectives

    This subject intends to: — Promote capacities in the area of ¿¿communication in the components of information, image, and intelligible array of elements. — Explore methods of data organization in the form of charts, in the sense of finding new ways to see and understand them.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    An active methodology based on Project-Based-Learning (PBL) will be used. The aim is for students to investigate, explore and produce visual content in the area of infographics and digital page layout in the light of various theoretical and practical cases. In class, bibliographic and cinematographic resources will be used to present theoretical content and case studies, in order to consolidate the content.
