Objectives
. Students should gain a practical and theoretical understanding of the role of journalism in society, as well as develop familiarity with journalistic productions and current national and international news, something many students typically lack. Additionally, students should become aware of and equipped to recognize the need to verify, seek diversity, and check the news content they access by critically assessing their sources and the ideas conveyed. Through theoretical exposure and grounding in social thought, students should be able to begin practically handling journalistic language and its first techniques.
