The Internship takes place in institutions that operate in the area of the course through the signing of a protocol between the UL and the Internship Institution (IE), under the guidance of an FCNET professor and a person responsible for the company. The intervention is organised according to a Project-Based Learning model, it is intended that, following this model, the proposed practices are based on evidence, committed to a high degree of scientificity that will govern the decisions made.

Objectives
Possess knowledge and ability to understand at a level that: i) based on the knowledge obtained in the 1st cycle of studies, develop and deepen it, ii) enables and forms the basis of original developments and/or applications, in many cases in research contexts; iii) know how to apply their knowledge and their ability to understand and solve problems in new and unfamiliar situations, in broad and multidisciplinary contexts;c) ability to integrate knowledge, deal with complex issues, develop situations or make judgments in situations of limited or incomplete information; iv) be able to communicate their conclusions, knowledge and reasoning to both experts and non-specialists in a clear and unambiguous manner; v) skills that enable them to learn throughout their lives in a fundamentally self-oriented or autonomous way.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
The weekly meetings with the supervisors take place in an individual format. Students have to deliver a 60-100 page dissertation approved by the supervisor that will be evaluated before a jury of at least three members, which includes 20 minutes of oral presentation, followed by 60 minutes of questioning by the jury. The jury is formed by at least the course director, advisor and an external main examiner. At the end, students must publish a scientific article in a journal or conference depending on the quality and volume of the work.
