Provide contact experiences with professionals and athletes in the area of ¿¿adapted sports as well as learn about the functioning of institutions with adapted sports practice in the geographical area where Univesidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário do Porto is located.

    PC1. CONCEPTS AND HISTORICAL EVOLUTION OF ADAPTED SPORT 1. International and National Evolution 2. Adapted Sports Organizations 3. Concept of special educational needs (SEN) 4. Clinical, social and biopsychosocial model. PC2. ADAPTED SPORT SCOPE OF INTERVENTION 1. Educational, Therapeutic, Recreational, Competitive PC3. International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) PC4. Functional categories in sport for people with disabilities 1. Model of inclusion in activities; 2. STEP Tool PC5. PRACTICAL INTERVENTION 1. Visiting institutions and planning sporting activities in different areas of intervention. 2. Organization and practice of adapted sports. 3. Open classes with members of the community linked to the practice of adapted sports: manager, coach, athlete.
  • Objectives

    Objectives

    The objectives of this Curricular Unit are: AO1) make the student aware of the reality of adapted sport in Portugal, its different areas of intervention and skills; AO2) make the student aware of the functional classification systems; AO3) Develop critical thinking in the student about the process of inclusion in society through sports. AO4) Provide students with information about different views of sports agents linked to adapted sports (manager, coach, athlete) and provide experiences in the various institutions with adapted sports practices in the geographical area where UL-CUP is located.
  • Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Different teaching methodologies (TM) will be used: Expository classes (TM1): Resolution of practical cases (TM2), Viewing and discussion of documentaries/videos (TM3), Bibliographic research (TM4), Small group activities (TM5) , Feedback information provided by the teacher about the work carried out (TM6).
