    The UC - Dance integrates the 1st cycle of the students¿ formative path in Physical Education and Sports. It provides essential basic skills, transversal to professional performance, including the following areas of action and intervention domains: _basic Dance activities with focus on different styles/genres of Dance, intervening in the domains of Knowledge, Description, Interpretation, application and execution with correction. _ the structure for Dance sessions/classes for children and youth in school age and methodological progression for teaching, with focus on improvisation and choreographic creation, through the development of creative potential and intervention in the domains of Knowledge, interpretation and application. _the teacher¿s ways of intervention and the capacity to recognize and correct technical errors with intervention in the domains of Knowledge, interpretation, application and correction

    Syllabus

    PC1- Dance- a moving body: Notions, concepts, historical references and basic specific terminology. CP2- Structuring motor behaviour in Dance through the analysis of movement (Rudolf Laban), making use of choreographic material:  Body, Space, Time, Dynamics and Relations; Creativity, Stimuli, Observation, Aesthetic sensibility. CP3- Improvisation and develop of choreographies in Dance CP4- Dance in educative context: benefits of Dance (physical, emotional, social, creative and cultural); Technique and Expression - PNEF; Planning and selection of content - Lab Practice and tutorial orientation. Organization structure of a class: Methodological approach to teaching-learning of Dance.
  • Objectives

    Objectives

    Students should acquire knowledge and skills that allow the planning, orientation, evaluation and control over the process of teaching-learning in Dance, in its various modes. By defining the goals for learning (oa), students in this UC show acquire the skills to:   Oa1) understand notions, concepts and basic terminology specific to dance genres included in the National Program of Physical Education. Oa2) develop knowledge, experience and pedagogical-didactic skills to engage with Dance in school, based on the structure of motor behavior in Dance and movement analysis. Oa3)develop the skills to create choreographies (improvisation and composition), in the development of movement sequences. Oa4) Act in the are of interpretation (act, dance) Oa5) Identify and apply the main methodologies used in the teaching of Dance, making use of different levels of planning.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Different teaching methodologies (TMs) will be used: Demonstration, experimentation, and practical exercises (TM1) Pedagogical practices in a simulated situation for planning, organization, and intervention in the context of teaching/learning (TM2) Practical case solving (TM3) Viewing and discussing documentaries/videos (TM4) Small group activities (TM5) Instructor feedback on work done (TM6).
