As a scientific field, it also aims to contribute to understanding psychological and social phenomena, capturing the complexity underlying the interaction of positive and negative aspects of human behavior and functioning.

Objectives
LO1: To understand the new epistemological paradigm of Positive Psychology, acquiring and integrating concepts and knowledge that allow its historical framing. LO2: To know and discuss the main themes and areas of knowledge and research of Positive Psychology. LO3: To understand and reflect on the primary prevention processes, individuals' positive functioning promotion, and optimization by opposition to remediation models. LO4: Identify, describe and reflect on the main application areas of positive psychology. LO5: To know the main research methods in Positive Psychology and reflect on its application and pertinence.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Teaching methodologies and assessment
This curricular unit comprises theoretical-practical classes that will include expository moments (ME1) using various resources, participatory discussions (ME2) in a large group, viewing film clips (ME3), small group work (ME4), presentation and oral discussion of group work (ME5) and feedback from the professor and peers (ME6). The teaching methodologies proposed and described integrate a set of pedagogical innovation practices based on evidence and adjusted to the objectives and contents of the course.
