This curricular unit aims to promote introductory knowledge and skills in the field of psychological assessment and its application in different practical contexts. The syllabus presented was selected and organized in order to promote sustained learning, but also because it is important for students to continue their studies and later develop their professional activity. The syllabus will be taught through the use of a variety of methodologies, in order to promote the understanding of theoretical knowledge and the necessary practical training.

Objectives
Objectives
LO1: To recognize the importance of measurement in psychology and its relation to other psychological practices. LO2: To describe the main characteristics, stages and theoretical models in the psychological assessment. LO3: To recognize the need to use different methodologies and informers in the process of psychological assessment, as well as their applicability to different situations and practical contexts. LO4: To identify objectives, theoretical-practical assumptions, potentialities and limits of different methodologies and psychological assessment procedures. LO5: To demonstrate ability to communicate information collected in the context of psychological assessment, namely at the level of formulation and writing of psychological reports. LO6: To reflect on ethical-deontological issues of psychological assessment in different situations and practical contexts.

Teaching methodologies and assessment
Methodologies: oral presentation, interactive dialogue, small group activities, peer and teacher feedback. The proposed teaching methodologies integrate a set of evidence-based pedagogical innovation practices, and adjusted to the objectives and contents of the curricular unit.
