    "Psicologia Social" explores the scientific study of social thought and behavior. Its central objective is to contribute to a deep understanding of the object and main themes of social psychology: The main topics include an introduction and an overall view of the field, the role of the mind in social life and behavior, and the nature of social interactions. It is also intended for students to be able to debate and critically analyze the covered programmatic contents and to apply some of the issues to everyday situations.

  • Objectives

    Objectives

    At the end of the semester, it is expected that students will have acquired the following competencies: LO1: Understand and comprehend the object of social psychology, its main influences, historical milestones, and current trends in research; LO2: Identify and distinguish different processes of social influence and explain their role in individual choices and group processes; LO3: Understand and explain the role of social cognition in everyday life and social behavior; LO4: Comprehend basic interpersonal dynamics, knowing the main explanatory theories, and relating them to adopt a critical stance towards their main assumptions; LO5: Analyze and critically debate social behavior and thought, applying theoretical and scientific knowledge to contemporary social issues.

    Teaching methodologies and assessment

    Active methodologies that encourage active student participation in the learning process are chosen, providing a more dynamic and engaging experience, namely: Problem-Based Learning (PBL), Project-Based Learning (PBL), Case Studies, Cooperative Learning, Flipped Classroom, Role-playing, and Debates and Discussions. When developing active methodologies, the aim is to create a more participative learning environment, fostering student engagement and a deeper understanding of the topics covered.
