A. The European framework for civil law
I - The Work of International Working Groups (¿Lando Commission¿ and the Principles of European Contract Law; European Principles of the Law of Responsibility; ¿Study Group for a European Civil Code¿)
II - Areas already harmonized by European law
1. The Rome I and Rome II Regulations on the law applicable to contractual and non-contractual obligations
2. The Brussels I Regulation on jurisdiction, recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters
3. The Regulations on the european enforcement order, european injunction procedure, european small claims procedure, european account preservation, on insolvency proceedings, on matrimonial matters and parental responsibility, and in matters of succession

Objectives
Students are expected to know the evolution of the Law of Obligations on the last quarter of the past century and on the present XXIth century.
This is the reason to study the main scientific researches carried out in order to reform the contract and the tort law, as well as the reforms already accomplishied.The studens shall so dispose of the devices to carry out research in the areas of their particular interest.
