
CBIOS researcher wins Egon Stahl Award 2022
Award distinguishes innovation and originality in Pharmacognosy and Chemistry of Natural Products.
28.06.22 - 11h18Egon Stahl 2022 Prize awarded to a researcher from the doctoral program in Health Sciences at the University of Alcalá (Madrid, Spain) in partnership with the Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa.
The Egon-Stahl-Award is a scientific distinction from the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research (GA).
The Egon-Stahl-Award in Bronze honors young scientists for innovation and originality in Pharmacognosy and Natural Product Chemistry in all its scope. The 2022 Egon-Stahl-Award in Bronze was awarded to Dr. Epole Ntungwe for his remarkable contribution to the search for key structures of Plectranthus species to combat multidrug resistance in cancer.
Dr. Epole Ntungwe (https://orcid.org/0000-0001-6596-8985) currently works at CBIOS, the Center for Research in Biosciences and Health Technologies at U Lusófona, and collaborates closely with Professor Ana Diaz (U Alcalá) and Professor Patrícia Rijo (U Lusófona, Lisbon), her former PhD supervisors.
The 2022 Egon-Stahl-Award in Bronze will be presented to Dr. Epole Ntungwe (pictured) on August 28 during the GA2022 Congress in Thessaloniki (Greece).
