
Jacinto Godinho's film among the finalists for the 2025 Gabo Award
“The Eyes of the Revolution” was the only Portuguese project selected among the 15 finalists, revealing images of the Carnation Revolution

The documentary "Os Olhos da Revolução", authored by Jacinto Godinho (Associate Professor at the Department of Communication Sciences of Lusófona University and researcher at CICANT) and Carlos Oliveira, was the only Portuguese project selected among the 15 finalists for the 2025 Gabo Award, one of the most prestigious distinctions in Portuguese and Spanish-language journalism.
Promoted by the Gabo Foundation and created by writer Gabriel García Márquez, the award annually recognises the best achievements in Ibero-American journalism, highlighting excellence, innovation, and commitment to the public interest.
The award ceremony took place in Bogotá, Colombia, from 24 to 27 July, as part of the 2025 Gabo Festival. The documentary "Os Olhos da Revolução" was a finalist, reaching the Top 3 in the "Image" category, with the winner being the project "En la caliente - Historias de un guerrero del reguetón".
