On 16 May, the IX Conference on Exercise and Health was held at the Salão Nobre of Universidade Lusófona - Centro Universitário do Porto, from 9:30 to 13:30. The event, organised by Lucimere Bohn, Inês Marques-Aleixo and José Pedro Guimarães, focused on the scientific area of sport, bringing together specialists, professors, researchers, journalists and students to discuss relevant topics on physical exercise and its relationship with health.

With a diversified programme, the Days addressed issues such as functional fitness in nonagenarians and centenarians, the impact of online physical exercise on women with breast cancer, Portuguese recommendations for 24-hour movement, among others.

The event began with the opening session, presenting the Master's Degree in Exercise and Health, led by Lucimere Bohn. Eduardo Teixeira then moderated the discussion "And my master's thesis is?", which included presentations on positive change and autonomy in breast cancer patients, a topic tackled by Hugo Ribeiro, and functional fitness in the elderly, debated by Tiago Peixoto.

During the communications, divided into two blocks moderated by Inês Marques-Aleixo and Lucimere Bohn, studies and concepts relevant to the area were presented, such as "It takes to tango" and "Powerpenia".

Also noteworthy was the participation of Miguel Torrão, from SIC TV, who shared his experience on "An unexpected path in sport".

The Conference on Exercise and Health provided an environment for learning and reflection, emphasising the importance of a healthy lifestyle in promoting health and well-being in different populations.
