
ULusófona researchers take part in the 6th Sustainable Campus Conference
The project presented transforms food waste from the university canteen into cosmetic ingredients, contributing to the valorisation of resources

On 17 and 18 October 2024, in Aveiro, researchers Elisabete M. Mauricio, Cristina Guerra, and Adília Charmier participated in the 6th Sustainable Campus Conference (CCS2024)
In the Research and Knowledge Transfer II panel, they presented the oral communication “Valorisation of food waste from the Lusófona University Campus canteen for the production of cosmetic and nutraceutical ingredients”. The project aims to promote sustainability and the efficient use of waste, contributing to the circular economy in the university context by transforming food waste into new resources with commercial and ecological value.
