Technical Field Trip for Soil Science and Environmental Analytical Control UC – FE - ULusófona
27 Oct 2021 Activities
As part of the Soil Science (2nd Year) and Environmental Analytical Control (3rd Year) modules of the Environmental Engineering Bachelor's degree, a technical field trip is conducted to different locations to observe various soil profiles (in-situ soils) and sediments. At these sites, various unconsolidated materials (soils/sediments) and waters are collected, and the physical-chemical characterization of the sampled water masses is assessed in situ. During this day, students have the opportunity to interact with different soil profiles in continental environments (Azambuja, Vialonga) and transitional environments (Tagus estuary – Seixal Bay), as well as observe different types of sedimentary environments. The collected materials are intended for practical laboratory classes of the mentioned disciplines, where students perform various analyses throughout the semester, allowing them to complement the sampling experience with the required laboratory analytical component of the disciplines.
