Approves the Regulation for Grant Allocation to Students Enrolled in Study Cycles Leading to Professional Teaching Qualifications.
The respective Regulation applies to:
- Public higher education institutions exclusively supervised by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation
- and private higher education institutions.

Admission Conditions
In accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law No. 9-A/2025, of February 14, applicants for the study cycle leading to the Master¿s degree in Teaching Physical Education in Basic and Secondary Education must cumulatively meet the following requirements: Hold a higher education qualification, namely a bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Sciences, or a related field, or a foreign higher academic degree legally recognized as meeting the objectives of a bachelor¿s degree (cf. Article 18, paragraph 4, subparagraph a)). Have obtained, in their overall previous academic background, a minimum of 120 ECTS credits in the field of Physical Education and Sport, as defined in the annex to the aforementioned Decree-Law (cf. Article 18, paragraph 4, subparagraph b)). Demonstrate oral and written proficiency in the Portuguese language, as well as logical and critical reasoning skills. These will be assessed by Universidade Lusófona through its own methodology, which may include written tests, oral examinations, interviews, or other assessment tools (cf. Article 17, paragraphs 1 and 2). Applicants who have obtained at least 75% of the minimum required training credits for the specialization may also apply, provided that the remaining credits are completed concurrently with the study cycle. It is the responsibility of the legally and statutorily competent body of Universidade Lusófona to define the curricular units to be attended in order to fully meet the required conditions (cf. Article 18, paragraphs 7 and 8).

Knowledge, abilities and skills to be acquired
The study cycle aims to promote the following learning / skills: Ensure the mastery of Educational Sciences and the interdisciplinary area of Physical Education and Sport, in terms of the critical understanding not only of the educational system, its structure and social and political dynamics, but also of the responsibility of the teacher and all participants in the educational process. Teach the disciplinary subject and stimulate its critical and autonomous use, within the scope of the Physical Education curriculum for basic and secondary education. Promote the progressive integration and accountability of students in the context of pedagogical practice. Teach and support students in the application of appropriate research methodologies to the study of school education problems: in didactics and evaluation, in the organization of the school and in its relationship with the community. Integrating the teaching methodologies there will be a fundamental concern: scientific. Scientific because every statement, every decision, every proposal does not dispense with reasoning; Because in this search and in the degree of uncertainty of the foundation itself will be found the germ of research leading to more knowledge and best practices.

Career Opportunities
The master's degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education grants professional qualification for those teaching degrees. The duration of the study cycle is four academic semesters. The third and fourth semesters presuppose the completion of the professional internship and the preparation and public defence of the respective report.
